Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use toolsplus.ie, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

This website is operated by ToolHub Limited, trading as ToolsPlus.

  • Registered office: 20b Beckett Way, Parkwest Business Park, Dublin 12, D12 T2NF, Ireland
  • Registered in Ireland, company number 785621
  • VAT number 4410586JH
  • Email: info@toolsplus.ie
  • Telephone: 01 687 6097

ToolHub Limited is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any question about how we handle your information, write to info@toolsplus.ie.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you place an order or create an account, we collect your name, billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone number. If you contact us, we keep the message you send and our reply.

Payment information. We do not see, handle or store your card or bank details. Payment is processed by Klipboard Money, who receives those details directly from you. We are told only whether the payment succeeded or failed.

Loyalty programme. If you register for our loyalty/rewards programme (for example through a sign-up offer for a discount, or by earning points on purchases), we collect your name, email address and a record of your points and purchases, so we can apply your discount and track your balance.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the site we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view and the site you arrived from. Most of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies, and only to the extent you have consented to them. Our Cookie Policy explains this in full and lets you change your choice at any time.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

Purpose Legal basis
Taking payment, delivering your order, dealing with returns and refunds Performance of a contract with you
Answering your questions and providing customer support Performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in helping customers
Keeping accounting and VAT records Legal obligation under Irish tax law
Preventing fraud and keeping the website secure Our legitimate interest in protecting the business and our customers
Analytics, advertising and measuring which adverts lead to sales Your consent, given through the cookie banner
Running the loyalty/rewards programme, if you join it Performance of a contract with you (the programme's terms)

We do not currently send marketing emails. If that changes, we will only email you marketing with your consent (or, for existing customers, where the law allows us to email about similar products and you have not opted out), and you will always be able to unsubscribe.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time and we will stop. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with organisations that help us run the business, and only with what they need:

  • Klipboard, which provides and hosts our website and order system.
  • Klipboard Money, which processes your payment.
  • Delivery companies, which receive your name, address and telephone number so they can deliver your order.
  • Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram advertising), where you have consented to analytics and advertising cookies.
  • Our accountants and professional advisers, where needed.
  • Public authorities, where the law requires it.

Google and Meta may transfer information outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States. Those transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where that does not apply, on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

How long we keep it

  • Order and invoice records: seven years, because Irish tax law requires it.
  • Account details: for as long as your account is open. If you ask us to close it, we delete your account and keep only what the tax rules oblige us to keep.
  • Customer service messages: two years from the last contact.
  • Analytics and advertising data: as set out in our Cookie Policy. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • ask us to delete your information, where we are not obliged to keep it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent to cookies and marketing at any time.

To exercise any of these, email info@toolsplus.ie. We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not give your information to somebody else.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, or at www.dataprotection.ie.
